Hours of Jeanne d'Evreux
Overview
A tiny jewel of a book of hours made by Jean Pucelle between 1324 and 1328 for the French queen Jeanne d'Evreux. Its grisaille miniatures in shades of grey, teeming with drolleries, broke new ground in Parisian art. Bequeathed to the Met's Cloisters by Anne Morgan in 1954.
