Tyndale New Testament 1526
Overview
The first printed New Testament in English, translated by William Tyndale and printed at Worms in 1526 in pocket size for smuggling into England. Bishop Tunstall bought copies to burn them, financing Tyndale's revisions. Only three copies survive; its phrasing still echoes in the King James Bible.
