First Folio Shakespeare
Overview
Mr. William Shakespeares Comedies, Histories, and Tragedies, published in 1623 by his friends Heminges and Condell. Without it, 18 plays including Macbeth, Twelfth Night, and The Tempest might have been lost. Around 235 copies survive of perhaps 750 printed, most at the Folger in Washington.
