Hours of Catherine of Cleves
Overview
The richest Dutch manuscript of its time, made around 1440 in Utrecht for Catherine of Cleves, duchess of Guelders. Its 157 miniatures include inventive borders of fish, birds, and everyday objects, with famous images of hell and of the duchess herself praying. One of the Morgan's greatest treasures.
