Cathach of St Columba
Overview
The oldest surviving Irish manuscript, a psalter of the late 6th or early 7th century associated by tradition with St Columba himself. Its place in the Battle of the Book legend made it a relic carried into battle by the O'Donnell clan. Kept in a shrine (cumdach) since 1084.
