Codex Calixtinus
Overview
A 12th century compilation devoted to St James, gathering sermons, liturgy, miracle stories, and the Pilgrim's Guide, often called the first travel guide, which describes the routes to Santiago across France and Spain. The text is attributed to Pope Callixtus II, hence its name. Stolen from the cathedral archive in 2011, it was recovered a year later in a garage belonging to a former cathedral electrician.
