Carmina Burana
Overview
The largest surviving collection of medieval secular lyric, over 300 poems in Latin, Middle High German, and Old French copied in the 1230s. Found at Benediktbeuern monastery in 1803, it gave Carl Orff his 1936 cantata of the same name. Songs of students, love, drinking, and fate.
