Book of the Dead of Hunefer
Overview
A beautifully painted papyrus from around 1280 BCE made for Hunefer, overseer of royal cattle. Its elegant vignettes show the judgment scene, with Anubis weighing Hunefer heart before Horus presents him to Osiris. Found near Deir el-Bahari, it is a masterpiece of 19th dynasty line drawing.
