Book of the Dead of Ani
Overview
The finest surviving illustrated Egyptian funerary papyrus, about 24 meters long, prepared for the royal scribe Ani around 1250 BCE. Its hymns and spells guide the dead through the underworld, including the famous weighing of the heart against the feather of truth. Acquired by E.A. Wallis Budge in 1888.
