Diamond Sutra
Overview
The world's earliest dated printed book, a Buddhist scroll produced by woodblock on 5 May 868 and found in the sealed Library Cave at Dunhuang in 1907. Its frontispiece of the Buddha preaching is a landmark in the history of printing. Bought by Aurel Stein from the cave caretaker Wang Yuanlu.
