Archimedes Palimpsest
Overview
A 10th century copy of works of Archimedes, erased in 1229 and overwritten with a prayer book. Imaging since 1998 recovered unique texts, including the Method, where Archimedes outlines a proto-calculus of infinitesimals. Sold at Christie's for 2 million dollars, now fully digitized.
